what to do
Events
it’s not just about beer. We put the “fest” in Oktobrewfest with some of the best entertainment on the Mississippi
12:00 PM - Tapping of the Golden Keg
Mark the official kickoff of Oktobrewfest with the tapping of the golden keg! Raise your stein, strap on your leiderhosen, and get ready to polka! Prost!
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Barefoot Becky
Mix a cup of German, Czech, & Slovenian style polkas and waltzes, a cup of country,
two steps, foxtrots, and big band, a dash of latin and line dances, and party favorites
to taste, and you get Barefoot Becky & the
Ivanhoe Dutchmen, a group based out of Mt Vernon, Iowa.
1:15 PM - Beer Stein Competition
Grab your stein and get ready to flex your beer muscles. No beer can be spilled, no elbows can be bent, and extended arms must be kept parallel to the ground. The winner is the person who can keep their stein aloft the longest.
1:30 PM - Chicken Dance
Better start practicing your tail feather shake now. No real Octobrewfest is complete without a solid chicken dance. So channel your inner poultry and shake a leg with your barnyard friends!
2:00 PM - Brat Eating Contest
If you have a bottomless stomach, this contest is for you. This culinary competition will have you eating like a German and cheered on by the crowd.
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Frankie Joe & Kinfolk
Kinfolk is a little string band with big roots, honest American roots. Playing mostly originals written by Frankie Joe. Kinfolk is an earthy blend of down-home mid-west acoustic styles. A sound that comes from before country-rock and before bluegrass had a name. Proud to be from the mid-west with an Ozark Mountain accent.
2:30 PM - Yodeling Contest
Let your inner Alpine Yodeler shine by competing in the Yodeling Contest. All voices are welcome!
3:00 PM - Beer Belly Competition
Beer bellies take years—sometimes decades—to sculpt into perfect form, but it only takes a few moments for all that hard work and dedication to pay off at the Oktobrewfest Beer Belly Competition!
